The Demographic Change Advisory Council is the key advisory body on demographic change issues that are likely to affect the Tasmanian community and economy over the coming years.

Franklin covers an area of approximately 7 933 sq km from Bridgewater in the north to Port Davey in the south and Seven Mile Beach in the east. The City of Clarence is in the division. Other major towns include Blackmans Bay, Bridgewater (part), Cygnet, Dover, Franklin, Geeveston, Huonville, Kingston (part), Margate and Snug as well as Bruny Island.
